Alisson Becker can’t afford to be an adventurous goalkeeper at the start of his Liverpool FC career, ESPN FC pundit Stewart Robson has warned.

The Reds completed a world record deal to sign the South American goalkeeper in the 2018 summer transfer window.

Liverpool FC brought in Alisson in a £66m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma to solve a problem position.

The Brazil number one has established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in Serie A over the past couple of seasons.

The Merseyside outfit haven’t had a world class goalkeeper since Pepe Reina was allowed to leave the club under Jurgen Klopp.

Current number one Loris Karius made two big mistakes in Liverpool FC’s 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

ESPN FC pundit Robson believes Alisson can’t afford to make a hesitant start to his Liverpool FC career.

“My one worry is everyone is saying he is an adventurous goalkeeper,” Robson told ESPN FC.

“He needs to make sure he doesn’t make any mistakes at the start. Liverpool have had goalkeepers who have made mistakes. He needs to be a safe goalkeeper to start with.”

Liverpool FC have signed Brazil international Fabinho in a £39m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in the current transfer window.

The Reds have also signed Guinea international Naby Keita in a £48m switch from RB Leipzig after the two clubs agreed a deal last summer.

Liverpool FC snapped up Swiss star Xherdan Shaqiri in a £13.5m deal from Stoke City.
