The Liverpool FC striker drops a hint that his future lies at Anfield beyond the summer transfer window
Daniel Sturridge has appeared to drop a hint that Liverpool FC striker is set to remain at Anfield.
The England international spent the second half of the 2017-18 season on loan at West Bromwich Albion but Sturridge couldn’t help the Baggies to avoid relegation to the Championship.
Sturridge has struggled with injuries since Jurgen Klopp’s appointment as Brendan Rodgers’ replacement at Liverpool FC in October 2015.
Klopp has given the former Manchester City forward a number of chances to shine in the Liverpool FC team but Sturridge has struggled to remain fit.
Indeed, the 28-year-old’s Liverpool FC career has been hampered by persistent injuries since he scored 21 times in 28 games in his first full season in the Premier League at Anfield.
Sturridge has been linked with a potential exit this summer but the ex-Chelsea FC striker scored twice in a 7-0 victory over local rivals Chester City in their first pre-season friendly.
The Liverpool FC star posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:
“Nice to be back in an Lfc shirt with a win and some goals. Just the beginning 🙌🏾”
Liverpool FC lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev last season to end the campaign without any silverware.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table.
