Klopp to assess 23-year-old’s future at Liverpool FC if Ings leaves – report
Liverpool FC will have another look at Divock Origi given Danny Ings' uncertain future at the Anfield side, according to a report
Jurgen Klopp will reevaluate Divock Origi’s future at Liverpool FC in pre-season if Danny Ings completes a summer switch, according to a report in England.
The Liverpool Echo is reporting that the Reds boss wasn’t counting on Ings looking to force a move away from the Anfield outfit this summer to secure regular first-team football.
The same article states that Klopp wasn’t planning on signing a central striker this summer given Roberto Firmino, Dominic Solanke, Ings and Rhian Brewster in his ranks.
However, Ings’ desire to leave means Klopp will need to have another look at his attacking options heading into the 2018-19 Premier League season.
According to the same story, if the England Under-21 international leaves, Liverpool FC can’t rely on Firmino, Solanke and Brewster throughout the next campaign.
Liverpool Echo is reporting that Klopp could take another look at Origi following his return from a season-long loan at Wolfsburg.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
Liverpool FC lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev after goals from Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.
