Fabinho has shed light on his nervousness during negotiations with Liverpool FC before the versatile midfielder completed a move to Liverpool FC.
The Reds signed Fabinho in a £40m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in the summer transfer window to bolster their options ahead of the new season.
Liverpool FC completed a deal for Fabinho under the radar after the versatile midfielder was previously linked with a switch to sign Manchester United and Manchester City.
Fabinho became the first summer signing at Anfield this summer as the 24-year-old gets the chance to sample Premier League football for the first time in his career.
The Brazil international and his wife could barely contain their delight on social media after the defensive midfielder completed a switch to Liverpool FC.
Fabinho opened up about the negotiations that led to his move to the five-time European champions.
“He told me the calendar is demanding in England and that he needs players like me,” Fabinho told Liverpool Echo.
“It was a huge honour to hear such a compliment and that’s what I wanted for my career – a move to a big club that knew they could count on me.
“That day was party day! We were both smiling at everything. I was really anxious during all of the negotiations, so when it was time for me to sign the contract I couldn’t have been happier – a dream come true.
“When I was doing the medical exams I couldn’t I couldn’t stop asking people ‘When does it finally become official?’ You don’t sign for one of tjhe biggest clubs in the world every day you know!”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure Champions League football ahead of Chelsea FC and Arsenal.
The Reds lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final last season following goals from Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale in the Kiev showpiece.
