Expert claims Mo Salah could force Liverpool FC exit
Mohamed Salah could still be on his way out of Liverpool FC, according to a football finance expert
Mohamed Salah could be on his way out of Liverpool FC despite only having just signed a new contract with the Reds, according to football finance expert Kieran Maguire.
The 25-year-old attacker committed his long-term future to the Reds last week by penning a new deal with the Merseyside outfit as Liverpool FC moved quickly to secure the services of the Egypt international.
Salah was one of European football’s top performing players last season and he earned huge amounts of praise for his solid performances for the Reds last term.
He scored more than 40 goals for the Merseyside outfit as he helped them to finish in fourth place in the Premier League table and reach the Champions League final.
Now though, football finance expert Maguire has claimed that Salah could still force a move away from Anfield should he so wish.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Maguire said: “He was originally on £90,000 a week, which is fairly average for an elite player.
“They’ve now doubled that to around £185,000 a week which will put off most clubs.
“There is no release clause either, so if anyone wants to buy him – it will be Liverpool’s valuation at the time.
“Like we saw with Coutinho, if a player wants to go elsewhere, he can make it happen.
“So there are only two clubs you could expect him to go to – the Spanish giants – and you can expect the fee to be between [Kylian] Mbappe’s and Neymar’s.”
Liverpool FC will be looking to at least challenge for the Premier League title next season after the Reds finished in fourth place last term.
The Merseyside outfit are still searching for their first trophy since Jurgen Klopp’s appointment back in the autumn of 2015.
