Sky Sports News reporter claims Liverpool FC could make late bid for 25-year-old
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth believes Liverpool FC could make a late bid to sign Jack Butland
Liverpool FC could make a late swoop to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland, according to Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Reds are thought to be in the market to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window following Loris Karius’ poor performance in the Champions League final.
The German shot stopper made two big mistakes in Liverpool FC’s 3-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the European Cup showpiece in Kiev back in May.
Liverpool FC have been linked with a potential swoop to sign AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker but the Reds are facing competition from Chelsea FC and Real Madrid.
The Reds are thought to be interested in Butland’s Stoke team-mate Xherdan Shaqiri, who is available in a cut-price £13m deal this summer.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth believes Butland could move to Liverpool FC in the closing days of the summer transfer window.
“Butland is an interesting one,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“If he wants to be England No1 in the future, he’d have to be playing in the Premier League.
“The longer the window goes on, he could be on the move. Keep on eye on it.”
Liverpool FC have signed Brazil international Fabinho in a £40m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco last month.
The Reds have also added RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita following a £48m agreement with the Bundesliga outfit.
