Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, as quoted by talkSPORT, is reporting that the Reds have submitted a bid to secure the 29-year-old’s signature ahead of the new Premier League season.
The same article states that the FC Barcelona shot stopper is set to mull over Liverpool FC’s offer having fallen behind Marc-Andre ter Stegen at Camp Nou.
According to the same story, the Netherlands international would consider leaving FC Barcelona if Cillessen was given assurances that he would be the number one at any potential suitors.
Mundo Deportivo add that the FC Barcelona second-choice goalkeeper has been identified as an achievable target after Liverpool FC were priced out of a move to sign Brazilian Alisson Becker from AS Roma.
