Liverpool FC end interest in 29-year-old Dutch goalkeeper – report
Liverpool FC are no longer interested in a deal to sign FC Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, according to a report
Liverpool FC have ended their pursuit of FC Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, according to a report in England.
The Times, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that Liverpool FC won’t sign the Netherlands international in the current transfer window.
The same article states that Cillessen was initially on Jurgen Klopp’s list of potential targets to improve his options in goal ahead of the new season.
According to the same story, the German head coach has now decided to drop his interest in the Netherlands international and pursue other targets ahead of the new Premier League season.
Liverpool FC have been widely tipped to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window to replace Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet in goal ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
Karius made two big mistakes in Liverpool FC’s 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final last month to raise questions about his future as Klopp’s number one.
Liverpool FC signed Brazil international Fabinho in a £39m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco earlier in the summer transfer window.
The Reds have also added Guinea international Naby Keita to their ranks to bolster their options in the middle of the park.
