Jurgen Klopp replies to question about new Liverpool FC signings
The Liverpool FC boss is happy with his summer signings so far after adding Fabinho and Naby Keita to his squad
Jurgen Klopp has expressed his delight with Liverpool FC’s new signings Fabinho and Naby Keita in the summer transfer window so far.
The Reds reached a £48m agreement with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig last summer to sign Keita before the versatile midfielder spent the 2017-18 season at the German club.
The new Liverpool FC number eight will be tasked with helping to fill Emre Can’s void after the Germany international completed a free transfer to Serie A giants Juventus.
The 18-time English champions signed Brazil international Fabinho in a £39m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco to sign a proven defensive midfielder to improve their team.
Liverpool FC have also been heavily linked with a swoop for exciting France and Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir but a deal has failed to materialise so far.
The Reds are also thought to be in the market to sign a new goalkeeper, although Liverpool FC could be price out of deals for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker and Atletico Madrid shot stopper Jan Oblak.
Asked about Liverpool FC’s signings so far this summer, Klopp said:
“Yes, I am happy.
“And the work [on new signings] is always going on, that’s how it is. Why should we stop until the window is closing?
“It’s all good in the moment. We will see what happens and I will not – and don’t want to – say it looks a little bit better in that department or this department.
“If all the players are coming back and healthy from the World Cup then we have already a really, really good team – and that’s the only thing I need to know.
“What happens on the other side, we will see, but we don’t finish thinking about it before the last day of the window.”
The Reds lost 3-1 to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final last season.
