Marco Asensio won’t be leaving Real Madrid for Liverpool FC in the summer transfer window, according to the Spain international’s agent.

The Spanish midfielder has been linked with a sensational switch to the Merseyside outfit after growing disillusioned with life at The Bernabeu.

Reports in the Spanish media suggested that Liverpool FC could spend a club transfer record fee on the Real Madrid playmaker to fill Philippe Coutinho’s void at the Anfield outfit.

Asensio has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the Real Madrid team over the past couple of seasons given intense competition from Isco, Gareth Bale, Luis Vazquez and Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, his agent Horacio Gaggioli ruled out the exciting 22-year-old playmaker completing a big money move to Liverpool FC in the current transfer window.

“Marco does not move, he stays at Real Madrid,” Gaggioli told Calcio Mercato.

“He is growing a lot and I think next season will be very important for him in Madrid.”

Liverpool FC were unable to conclude a deal to sign France international Nabil Fekir from Lyon earlier this summer due to concerns about a long-standing knee problem.

Switzerland international Xherdan Shaqiri has also been touted as a cut-price option to bolster Jurgen Klopp’s creativity in the middle of the park.

Liverpool FC have added Brazilian Fabinho and RB Leipzig star Naby Keita to their squad so far this summer.
