Moses Simon replies when asked about Liverpool FC transfer speculation
KAA Gent star Moses Simon addresses speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool FC this summer
Moses Simon has revealed that Liverpool FC haven’t made a concrete bid for the KAA Gent star.
The Reds have been linked with a potential swoop to sign the Nigeria international in the summer transfer window.
Jurgen Klopp is thought to be keen to bolster his squad depth after the Reds found themselves stretched in the second half of the 2017-18 Premier League season.
Moses scored nine times in 29 games in the Belgian top flight last season to attract interest from some top European clubs.
Simon was forced to sit out the World Cup due to a thigh injury as the Super Eagles failed to make it past the group stage.
The 23-year-old has 12 months left to run on his current deal with KAA Gent to fuel talk of a move to Liverpool FC.
The Belgian club are thought value Simon at around £10m following his impressive stint in Gent.
However, when asked about Liverpool FC’s interest in the African winger, Moses claimed the Reds haven’t made a firm approach.
“Well, for now, I’m still a player of KAA Gent; obviously, there was interest from Liverpool but nothing is concrete for now,” Simon told AOI Football.
“I’m currently in Holland with the rest of the squad and we are getting ready for the new season.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to secure a spot in the Champions League in consecutive seasons.
The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
