Gabriele Marcotti reacts to reports Liverpool FC want to sign Paulo Dybala
ESPN FC pundit Gabriele Marcotti rules out Liverpool FC signing Paulo Dybala
Gabriele Marcotti has rubbished talk of Liverpool FC signing Paulo Dybala from Juventus this summer.
The Argentina international has emerged as a surprise target for the Merseyside outfit over the past few weeks.
The South American’s future at Juve could be in doubt following the arrival of Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo.
Dybala has established himself as one of the best strikers in Serie A following 52 goals in 98 games in Serie A.
The Argentinian forward has also got Champions League experience, having netted six times in 26 games in the Champions League.
Liverpool FC have funds to spend following Philippe Coutinho’s £142m switch to FC Barcelona in the January transfer window.
The Reds are rumoured to be favourites to sign Dybala, despite the South American previously being linked with a switch to FC Barcelona.
Italian journalist Marcotti believes Liverpool FC are unlikely to sign Dybala from the Serie A champions in the summer transfer window.
“I think Juventus are hoping not to have to sell Paulo Dybala,” Marcotti told ESPN FC.
“They hope to raise their money in other ways. But I’m not sure Dybala would be a great fit for Liverpool. ”
Liverpool FC started their summer spending with the £40m addition of Ligue 1 midfielder AS Monaco this summer.
The Reds have also snapped up RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita in a £48m switch.
