Manchester United have agreed a fee to sell Daley Blind to Ajax, the Red Devils confirmed on Monday night.

Blind’s future at Old Trafford had been a constant source of speculation in the summer months after he failed to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Manchester United.

Indeed, Blind only made four starts in the Premier League for the Red Devils last term under Jose Mourinho and it seemed inevitable that he would seek a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

And the Red Devils confirmed on Monday night that Blind is set to head back to Ajax after having signed for the Red Devils back in 2015.

The statement posted on the Manchester United website read: “Manchester United has agreed terms with Ajax for the transfer of Daley Blind.

“A further announcement will be made in due course.”

Blind had been heading into the final year of the first contract he signed with the Red Devils when he first joined them under Louis van Gaal.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are still believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.

Manchester United ended up second and without a trophy under Mourinho last season.
