Daley Blind would have to take a pay-cut if he wants to leave Manchester United to re-sign for Ajax this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Blind is a serious target for the Amsterdam club, who want to bring the defender back to the Netherlands.

Blind, 28, has one year left on his current contract at Old Trafford after the Red Devils opted to activate an option to extend for a further 12 months.

According to the same story, Ajax are keen to bring Blind back to the club but they would not be able to afford a transfer fee as well as his wages, which are thought to be in the region of £120,000 a week.

The same report says that unless Manchester United opted to waive the fee in order to get the defender off the wage bill, Blind would have to take a pay-cut to re-join his former employers.

The Netherlands international’s future at Old Trafford has been something of a source of speculation recently as Jose Mourinho considers revamping his defence this summer.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have so far completed two new signings this summer after wrapping up deals for both Diogo Dalot and Fred.
