Manchester United should make an official move to try and bring Gareth Bale to Old Trafford from Real Madrid this summer, according to Mickey Thomas.

The Red Devils are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next term.

Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last term and ended up without a trophy in what was Jose Mourinho’s second campaign in charge at the club.

Bale’s future has been a source of speculation this summer, with the Red Devils touted as a possible destination for the 28-year-old attacker as the Wales international considers his future beyond the summer.

Now, former Wales international and Manchester United star Thomas has urged the Red Devils to make a move to try and sign Bale this summer as he sees him as the perfect fit for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Speaking in an interview quoted by the Daily Star, Thomas said: “I would love to see him here.

“He’s a match-winner, he’s got pace, he’s got goals in him – and that’s what United need.”
