New Man United signing expresses delight at completing transfer
Lee Grant admits his delight at signing for Manchester United this week
Lee Grant has spoken of his delight at signing for Manchester United from Stoke City this week.
The veteran goalkeeper was confirmed as the Red Devils’ third signing of the summer on Tuesday as Manchester United moved quickly to snap him up on a two-year contract from the Potters.
The 35-year-old becomes Manchester United’s third signing of the summer transfer window after having tied up deals for Diogo Dalot and Fred.
The goalkeeper has admitted that it was a “dream” of his to play for Manchester United and he could not hide his delight at signing for the Red Devils this week.
Speaking in an interview with Manchester United’s website, Grant said: “Moving to Manchester United has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. This was an opportunity that I couldn’t let pass and I’m thrilled to become a part of such a historic club.
”I’ve enjoyed every moment of my career so far and I’m now ready to continue learning and improving alongside some of the best players in the game. But at the same time, I intend to use my experience to help the team whenever possible.”
Manchester United are still believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
The Red Devils finished in second place in the Premier League table last term and without a trophy in what was Jose Mourinho’s second campaign in charge at the club.
Manchester United have not won the Premier League title since their famous final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
