Man United are close to signing veteran goalkeeper Lee Grant, according to BBC reporter Simon Stone
Manchester United are on the verge of completing a deal to bring veteran goalkeeper Lee Grant to the club as their third summer signing, according to BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone.
The Red Devils have been credited with an interest in bringing in the 35-year-old shot-stopper on a free transfer this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to try and beef up his options between the posts.
Manchester United have already concluded two deals to bring in Brazilian midfielder Fred and young full-back Diogo Dalot this summer as Mourinho prepares for his third campaign in charge at Old Trafford.
Now, BBC Sport reporter Stone has revealed that the Red Devils are on the brink of being able to conclude a deal to sign Grant this summer.
He also revealed that if the proposed deal does indeed go through, then Joel Perreira is likely to be sent out on loan for next season.
Stone wrote on Twitter: “Lee Grant to @ManUtd close. If it goes through, Joel Pereira will spend season out on loan. Jose wants him to develop properly.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United are thought to still be in the market for a number of other signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of winning the title next season.
The Red Devils finished in second place and without a trophy last term after they were beaten by Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final.
