Manchester United are looking to sign both Robert Lewandowski and Thiago Alcantara as their next two summer recruits, according to reports in the British media.

The Independent is reporting that the Red Devils are keen to sign both the striker and the midfielder this summer as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

The same story claims that Bayern Munich are “open” to selling both players this summer as Manchester United look to add some fresh fire-power to their squad ahead of the new campaign.

The report says that Manchester United are keen for reinforcements in both positions and that the Red Devils have the funds to be able to pull off both deals.

The article claims that Jose Mourinho has been a long-term admirer of Poland striker Lewandowski, who is also thought to be attracting interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea FC.

It is also being claimed that Manchester United’s bid to sign Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur has been put on the back-burner because of the north London club’s high valuation of the defender.

Manchester United will be looking to at least challenge for the Premier League title next season after the Red Devils finished in second place and without a trophy last term.
