Manchester United could sign a replacement for Luke Shaw in the summer transfer window, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Red Devils have been linked with a host of different defenders this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to improve his back four.

Manchester United have already signed Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot in a £17m deal from FC Porto.

Shaw has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the Manchester United team since Mourinho’s appointment in May 2016.

The England international has been the subject of criticism from his manager due to his poor performances on the pitch.

Shaw has also struggled with fitness issues to curtail his progress in the Manchester United team over the past 24 months.

Sky Sports News reporter Sheth believes Manchester United could look to sign a new left-back to replace Shaw this summer.

“I wonder whether Man United will be in for a left-back as well,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.

“The last couple of seasons Mourinho’s utterances about Shaw haven’t been cordial.

“I wonder Shaw will be the one to miss out next season. Whether they will move him on.”

Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last term to secure their best finish since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

The Red Devils lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley back in May following Eden Hazard’s winner.
