Luke Shaw looked to be in good spirits as he arrived at Manchester United’s Carrington training base to report for pre-season training.

The left-back has been working hard on his fitness levels in the summer months as he bids to prove himself to Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford ahead of next season.

Shaw’s future at Manchester United has been a source of speculation this summer after he struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first-team under Mourinho last term.

However, the England international now appears determined to prove himself to the Portuguese coach and he seemed to be in high spirits as he reported to Carrington to begin pre-season training this week.

Shaw posted the picture above of himself arriving at Carrington and wrote the caption on Instagram: “Back to work 😁 #MUFC.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United will be aiming to challenge for the Premier League title next season as they look to try and win the trophy for the first time since 2013.

The Red Devils ended last season without a trophy as they finished in second place in what was Mourinho’s second campaign in charge at Old Trafford.

Manchester United won both the Europa League and League Cup in Mourinho’s first season at the club.
