Paul Pogba lavishes praise on Kylian Mbappe following his brilliant performances for France
Paul Pogba lavished praise on Kylian Mbappe after the teenager helped to fire France into the quarter-finals of the World Cup over the weekend.
France secured their spot in the last eight in Russia thanks to a thrilling 4-3 win over Argentina on Saturday.
Mbappe was the star of the show as the 19-year-old scored twice in the second half to help inspire Didier Deschamps’ side through to the quarter-finals in Russia.
The teenager has been touted as a possible transfer target for Manchester United in the past, and there have been fresh reports linking him with a move to Old Trafford this summer.
And Manchester United midfielder Pogba, who helped France to navigate their way past Argentina over the weekend, insisted that Mbappe is one of the biggest talents in world football right now.
Pogba is quoted as saying by Metro: “Kylian has much more talent than I have.
“Do you see what he is doing at his age? No, I never had his talent. He has so much speed… he’s a forward, he can’t be compared with me.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United are thought to be on the lookout for a number of other signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of winning the title next season.
The Red Devils have already signed Diogo Dalot and Fred this summer as they look to build a team to challenge for the top-flight trophy.
