Top 29-year-old wants to sign for Man United – report
Toby Alderweireld is keen on a move to Manchester United from Tottenham this summer, say reports
Toby Alderweireld is keen on a transfer to Manchester United from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to reports in the British media.
Yahoo! Sports, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Tottenham defender is open to a move to Old Trafford after this summer’s World Cup, as his future at White Hart Lane continues to be a source of speculation.
The same report says that Tottenham are “resigned” to losing the Belgium defender this summer, as his contract allows him to leave White Hart Lane for just £25m in a year’s time.
According to the same article, Manchester United have looked at other players recently but Tottenham have since indicated that a deal for the defender could be done this summer.
The same story says that Alderweireld’s representatives are pushing for a move to Manchester United for their client this summer.
Alderweireld is widely considered to be on of the Premier League’s top defenders and he has been in good form for Belgium at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will be looking to challenge for the Premier League title next season after they finished in second place and without a trophy last term.
