Man United defender urged to leave by Tottenham star
Toby Alderweireld offers Man United defender Toby Alderweirled some advice
Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has urged Daley Blind to consider a transfer back to Ajax this summer from Manchester United.
The Red Devils defender’s situation has been a source of speculation this summer due to his lack of playing time under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford last season.
Blind has inevitably been linked with a transfer away from Manchester United this summer as he looks to join a club where he will be guaranteed regular playing time.
Alderweireld and Blind played together for Ajax before their moves to the Premier League, and the Tottenham defender believes that a move for his friend to move back to the Dutch club would be a good one.
Speaking in an interview with De Telegraaf, Alderweireld said: “Daley is a top guy!
“I have not only played football with him, but also went to school together.
“He is a real Amsterdammer. That he has indicated that he wants to come back, if it succeeds, is great for both parties.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United have completed three signings so far this summer after having tied up deals to land Diogo Dalot, Fred and Lee Grant.
The Red Devils are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
They finished in second place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last term.
