Sky Sports reporter discusses Man United deal for top Brazilian
Laura Woods discusses a potential deal for Man United to sign Willian from Chelsea FC this summer
A move for Manchester United to sign Willian from Chelsea FC this summer could be on the cards, according to reporter Laura Woods.
The Brazilian attacker’s future at Stamford Bridge has been a constant source of speculation this summer after he struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Chelsea FC last season.
Willian found his playing time to be restricted under Antonio Conte in the Italian manager’s second campaign in charge and that has inevitably prompted suggestions that he could be on his way out of the west London side this summer.
Manchester United have been credited with an interest in signing Willian for some time, with Jose Mourinho believed to be a keen admirer of the attacker, who he worked with during his time in charge of Chelsea FC.
The Red Devils have already reunited Mourinho with one of his former Chelsea FC players before, with Manchester United having brought Nemanja Matic to Old Trafford last summer.
And now, Sky Sports reporter Woods has pondered what Mourinho could be planning should the Red Devils indeed make a move for Willian this summer.
Speaking on the Transfer Talk podcast, Woods said: “Would buying Willian be an other case of what we have saw from Mourinho?
“Buying players he likes and then working out where to play him…”
