Manchester United are unlikely to sign Leicester City defender Alex Maguire this summer, Dharmesh Sheth has claimed.

The Red Devils have been linked with a potential swoop to sign the England international in the current transfer window.

Manchester United are in the market to improve their centre-half options under Portuguese head coach Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils boss has been reluctant to place his faith in Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof.

Maguire was a revelation at the World Cup as the Leicester star helped England to reach the semi-finals.

Sky Sports News reporter Sheth believes Maguire’s value has gone up significantly since his World Cup performances.

“The value of Maguire after an amazing World Cup,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.

“Maguire’s value has gone up another £20m after such a great World Cup. I can’t see it unless Leicester get silly money.”

Manchester United have signed Brazil international Fred in a £52m deal from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Red Devils have also added Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot to their squad in a £17m deal.
