Man United will have to pay £44m to sign World Cup star – report
Eintracht Frankfurt are willing to sell Manchester United target Ante Rebic in a deal worth around £44m, according to a report
Manchester United are interested in signing Croatia and Frankfurt midfielder Ante Rebic, according to a report in Germany.
German newspaper Bild, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Red Devils are keen on a deal to sign the Croatia international in the current transfer window.
Rebic has impressed in the World Cup after the Eintracht midfielder played a key role in Croatia’s run to the World Cup final in Russia over the past month or so.
The same article states that Frankfurt will demand £44m for the 23-year-old midfielder following his eye catching displays at the summer’s major tournament.
According to the same story, the Bundesliga club would be willing to sell Rebic if their valuation is met in the current transfer window.
Rebic has started five of Croatia’s six games in the World Cup so far, helping his national team to ease past hosts Russia and England in the quarter-finals and semi-finals.
Manchester United have already bolstered their midfield with the addition of Brazilian Fred in a £53m deal from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Red Devils have also added Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot to their squad in a £17m from FC Porto earlier this summer.
