Reporter claims Man United need to sell 22-year-old to fund Gareth Bale move
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth believes Manchester United need to sell Anthony Martial to fund Gareth Bale
Manchester United would have to sell Anthony Martial to fund a move for Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale, Dharmesh Sheth has claimed.
The Red Devils have been linked with a potential swoop to sign the Real Madrid attacker in the summer transfer window.
Bale has opened the door to a potential exit at The Bernabeu after the Wales international struggled to hold down a regular starting spot last term.
The 29-year-old forward scored two goals in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win against Liverpool FC in the Champions League final after he came off the bench.
Martial, meanwhile, has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the Manchester United team since Jose Mourinho’s appointment.
Both Inter Milan and Tottenham have been linked with a move to sign the France international following his frustrating spell
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth believes Manchester United will have to sell Martial to fund a move to sign Bale.
“They were linked with him even before he went to Real Madrid,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“Every summer he has been linked with Man United. Would Man United be able to afford him? You’d have to look at Martial and whether they will have to fund a move for Bale.”
Bale moved to Real Madrid in an £80m deal from Tottenham Hotspur in the 2013 summer transfer window.
