Manchester United will need to offer in the region of £50m to sign Marko Arnautovic this summer, journalist Dharmesh Sheth has claimed.

The Austria international has emerged as something of a surprise target for the Red Devils in the current transfer window.

Arnautovic moved to West Ham from Stoke in a club record £25m deal last summer to bolster the Hammers’ attacking options.

The controversial attacker scored 11 times in 31 games in the Premier League last term to help West Ham United remain in the top flight

While Arnautovic is know for his moments of brilliance, the Austrian playmaker has struggled to find consistency during his Premier League career.

The 29-year-old scored 26 times in 145 games for Stoke before his big-money switch to the English capital.

Sky Sports News reporter Sheth believes Manchester United will have to cough up £50m to sign Arnautovic.

“If there is a bid around £50m, I reckon West Ham might be tempted to take it,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.

Manchester United have signed Brazil international Fred in a £52m deal from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Red Devils have also recruited Diogo Dalot in a £17m deal from FC Porto.
