Manchester United have been handed a boost in their reported pursuit of Leonardo Bonucci this summer after the Italian club decided to sell the defender, according to reports.
The Daily Express, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Italian club have decided that they are willing to let Bonucci leave the club this summer and have given Manchester United the green light to complete the deal.
The same story says that the Red Devils are keen to bring in reinforcements at the back this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his options in defence ahead of next season.
According to the same report, Bonucci is likely to cost in the region of £30m should he be sold by AC Milan this summer.
Manchester United have already made three new signings this summer after having tied up deals for Diogo Dalot, Fred and Lee Grant.
The Red Devils will be aiming to at least challenge for the Premier League title next season after they finished in second place in the Premier League table last season and without a trophy.
Manchester United have not won the Premier League title since their famous final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.
