David De Gea is disappointed that Real Madrid are looking at other options to fill their goalkeeper position this summer, Ian McGarry has claimed.

The Spain international has been regularly linked with a move to los Blancos over the past three or four seasons but a deal has failed to materialise.

De Gea was on the brink of a switch in the 2015 summer transfer window but a deal fell through at the final hour due to a mix up with paper work.

The 27-year-old has firmly established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League over the past few seasons.

Real Madrid are thought to be in the market to sign a new goalkeeper to replace Keylor Navas between the sticks under new boss Julen Lopetegui.

AS Roma shot stopper Alisson Becker is reported to be Real Madrid’s number one choice to bring in this summer.

Chelsea FC goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has also been touted as an option to replace Navas in the Real Madrid goal.

Daily Record journalist McGarry claimed that De Gea is upset that Real Madrid are now looking at other long-term options to sign this summer.

“He feels compromised. He always saw himself as Real Madrid’s number one at one point in his career,” McGarry told the Transfer Window podcast.

“Real Madrid haven’t come calling this summer. The linking of Alisson and Courtois to Real Madrid have clouded De Gea’s performances fro Spain in Russia this summer.”

Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge of the Red Devils.

The Red Devils lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley last season to end the season without a trophy.
