Manchester United will learn whether Gareth Bale is open to a move away from the Premier League next week after the Welsh forward holds talks with new Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui, according to a report.

Sky Sports is reporting that the Real Madrid winger is set to hold crunch talks with Zinedine Zidane’s successor about his future at the Champions League winners under the former Spain head coach.

The same article states that Bale’s representatives are also set to travel to Madrid for discussions with the club’s outspoken president Florentino Perez.

According to the same story, Manchester United haven’t held discussions with Bale or Real Madrid about a potential summer despite renewing their interest in the former Tottenham Hotspur winger.

Bale fell down the pecking order last season to struggle to secure a regular starting spot in the Real Madrid team under Zidane despite being a previous favourite of the French legend.

The former Spurs winger has won four Champions League titles, one La Liga title and the Copa del Rey during a five-season stay in the Spanish capital.

Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge.
