Manchester United are keen on a deal to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City, say reports

Manchester United want to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City this summer but they must sell a defender first, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils are keen on a deal to bring the 25-year-old England defender to Old Trafford this summer as they look to bolster their squad ahead of next season.

The same report, though, says that Manchester United would likely need to sell Marcos Rojo, Eric Bailly or Chris Smalling before completing a deal for Maguire.

Maguire earned plenty of praise for his strong performances for England in the heart of the national side’s defence during the World Cup in Russia.

The same story says that Leicester are prepared to offer Maguire a pay-rise to a deal worth around £75,000 a week, but the Foxes are also wary that he could end up leaving the King Power Stadium this summer.

Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.

The Red Devils have so far signed Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant so far this summer.
