Jose Mourinho told 29-year-old Serie A star can shine at Man United
Former Liverpool FC star Igor Biscan believes Ivan Perisic would be a hit at Manchester United
Ivan Perisic is good enough to move to Manchester United, ex-Liverpool FC star Igor Biscan has claimed.
The Croatia international was close to a move to the Red Devils last season but Manchester United couldn’t agree a fee with Inter Milan.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a switch to Manchester United this summer, but the speculation hasn’t been as intensive.
Jose Mourinho’s interest in Perisic could be piqued by his performances at the World Cup after Croatia reached the final.
Perisic scored Croatia’s equaliser in a 2-1 extra-time win over England to set up a final meeting with France in Moscow.
Former Liverpool FC star Biscan believes Perisic would be a great addition to the Manchester United team.
“It says a lot about a player when Jose Mourinho wants to sign them,” Biscan told BetStars.
“Ivan Perisic certainly has enough quality to play there [at Manchester United].”
He added: “He is very direct, very strong and he can score goals with both feet. He provides guaranteed quality and it wouldn’t take much for him to adapt his game to the Premier League.”
Perisic has scored 29 times in 107 league games over the past three seasons at Serie A giants Inter Milan.
The Croatian winger has previously played for Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Club Brugge.
Manchester United have signed Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred and FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot in the summer transfer window so far.
