Journalist suggests reported Man United target could leave Bayern
Sky Sports News reporter Michael Bridge believes there is a chance Man United target Jerome Boateng could leave Bayern this summer
Jerome Boateng is facing an uncertain future at Bayern Munich, according to Sky Sports News reporter Michael Bridge.
Manchester United have been linked with a move to sign the Germany international in the summer transfer window.
Reports in England suggest that Boateng is one of several contenders to improve Jose Mourinho’s defence ahead of the new season.
The World Cup winner spent one season at their bitter rivals Manchester City so has Premier League experience under his belt.
Boateng endured a forgettable World Cup in Russia after he performed poorly in Germany’s 1-0 loss to Mexico before he was sent off in a 2-1 win over Sweden.
Manchester United have also been linked with a potential swoop to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld and AC Milan centre-half Leonardo Bonucci.
Sky Sports News reporter Bridge confirmed that Boateng’s future is up in the air at the Allianz Arena.
“There are doubts about Boateng’s future. He has been linked with Manchester United,” Bridge told the Transfer Talk podcast.
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
The Red Devils lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley last term.
