Juventus have moved ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio, according to reports in Italy.
Italian outlet Tuttosport, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the Serie A side have now moved ahead of the Red Devils in the race to try and clinch the signing of the 23-year-old midfielder this summer.
The same report says that the £131m fee demanded by Lazio is believed to be too much for Manchester United, who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
According to the same article, super agent Jorge Mendes is now ready to try and help Juventus try and complete a deal for the Serbia international this summer.
The same story says that Juventus are unlikely to be able to pay Lazio’s mammoth asking price, but they are hoping that Mendes will be able to thrash out a deal for the midfielder.
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as the Red Devils look to try and build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
The Red Devils finished in second place in the table and without a trophy last term.
