Man United set to complete third summer signing after medical this week – report
Manchester United are set to complete a deal to sign Lee Grant once the experienced goalkeeper has a medical, according to a report
Manchester United will complete a deal to sign Lee Grant this week once the Stoke City goalkeeper undergoes a medical, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils will conclude a deal for the 35-year-old once Grant successfully passes a medical at Carrington training ground.
The same article states that Manchester United will spend £1.5m on the experienced shot stopper to ensure David De Gea and Sergio Romero have sufficient cover next term.
Manchester United have the Premier League’s best goalkeeper in their ranks in the shape of Spain number one David De Gea.
Argentina international Sergio Romero is De Gea’s understudy, while Joel Perreira is currently third-choice under the Portuguese head coach.
However, Manchester United are thought to be keen to send Perreira out on loan next season to ensure the promising shot stopper gets more experience.
Grant has played for Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday and Burnley during his professional career so far.
The former England Under-21 international has made 508 appearances.
Manchester United finished in second spot in the Premier League table last term but 19 points adrift of Manchester City.
