Duncan Castles confirms Man United have ‘major interest’ in 21-year-old striker
Sunday Times reporter Duncan Castles confirms Man United are interested in a deal to sign Bordeaux striker Malcom
Manchester United have a “major interest” in Bordeaux striker Malcom, Sunday Times reporter Duncan Castles has claimed.
The Red Devils have been linked with a host of different attacking players in the summer transfer window so far.
Manchester United have signed Brazil midfielder Fred in a £52m deal from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 20-time English champions have also added FC Porto full-back Diogo Dalot to bolster their full-back options.
However, Manchester United scored less goals than Manchester City and Liverpool FC in the Premier League last term.
Brazilian forward Malcom scored 12 goals and made seven assists in 35 games in Ligue 1 last season.
Sunday Times reporter Castles believes Manchester United and Arsenal are both interested in a deal to sign Malcom.
“He is a young Brazilian who has been extensively scouted by a host of leading Premier League clubs,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.
“He is of interest to Arsenal. He is of major interest to Man United.”
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge at Old Trafford.
