Anthony Martial will leave Manchester United if Jose Mourinho signs Marko Arnautovic, journalist Michael Bridge has claimed.

The Red Devils are being linked with a surprise swoop to sign the Austria international from West Ham United this summer.

The 29-year-old scored 11 times in 34 games in the Premier League last season to help the Hammers avoid relegation to the Championship.

Martial is facing an uncertain future at Manchester United amid the player’s concerns about a lack of playing time under Jose Mourinho.

The France international scored just three times in 2018 to raise questions about his long-term future at Manchester United.

Serie A giants Inter Milan, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with Martial.

Sky Sports News reporter Bridge believes Martial’s time could be coming to an end at the 20-time English champions.

“If they do get Arnautovic, for me, that’s goodbye Anthony Martial,” Bridge told the Transfer Talk podcast.

Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season to secure their place in the Champions League.

However, the Red Devils ended up 19 points adrift of English champions Manchester City.
