Jose Mourinho is prepared to sell Anthony Martial if the France forward is unhappy at Manchester United, according to a report in England.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Portuguese head coach is ready to offload Martial if the 22-year-old is genuinely unhappy at Old Trafford.

The same article states that Manchester United have been shocked by Martial’s persistent angling for a move away from the 20-time English champions.

According to the same story, the Red Devils board are reluctant to sell the France international to their Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the Daily Telegraph adds that Mourinho doesn’t want to have a discontent player in his squad and is prepared to allow Martial to leave.

The French forward has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the Manchester United team since Mourinho took over the reins from Louis van Gaal in 2016.

Martial has won the FA Cup, the League Cup and the Europa League during his three seasons at Old Trafford after a £36m move from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.

Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last term to secure their best finish since Sir Alex Ferguson.
