Italian transfer website Gianluca Di Marzio, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that Manchester United are in discussions to finally offload the 28-year-old defender to Inter this summer.
The same article states that Inter have asked the Red Devils about a potential loan deal for Darmian ahead of the 2018-19 Serie A campaign.
However, the story goes on to reveal that Manchester United are hoping to recoup around £20m for the Italy international this summer.
According to the same report, Jose Mourinho doesn’t see Darmian as part of his plans and Manchester United want to get the former Torino defender off their wage bill.
The Red Devils have already signed Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot in a £17m deal from FC Porto to bolster their options at full-back in the 2018 summer transfer window.
Manchester United finished in second spot in the Premier League table last season to secure a Champions League spot for the second successive campaign.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge of the Old Trafford outfit.
