The Daily Star, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that Manchester United want to sign the France international to bolster their attacking options under Jose Mourinho next season.
The same article states that Dembele has an uncertain future at Camp Nou despite moving to FC Barcelona in a £120m deal from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the 2017 summer transfer window.
According to the same story, the La Liga champions are prepared to send out Dembele on loan to allow the promising forward to get more first-team minutes under his belt to aid his development.
The report goes on to confirm that Manchester United’s Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool FC have both previously considered a bid to sign the Frenchman.
Manchester United signed Brazil international Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk in a £52m deal to bolster their options in the middle of the park ahead of the new Premier League season.
The 20-time English champions have also brought in Diogo Dalot in a £17m deal from FC Porto.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson led Manchester United to top-flight glory.
