Duncan Castles makes Man United prediction about Paul Pogba
Sunday Times reporter Duncan Castles believes Paul Pogba will stay at Man United
Manchester United expect Paul Pogba to remain at Old Trafford for the start of the new Premier League season, Duncan Castles has claimed.
Pogba has struggled to justify his price tag since his £89m club record move to Manchester United from Serie A giants Juventus in 2016.
The France international won the Europa League and the League Cup in his first season back at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho.
However, Pogba struggled to find his best form in the 2017-18 season and his performance attracted criticism from the Portuguese head coach.
The 25-year-old failed to carry out his defensive duties in the middle of the park alongside Serbia international Nemanja Matic.
Pogba has been linked with a potential move to La Liga giants Real Madrid and Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain in the current transfer window.
Sunday Times reporter Castles believes Pogba will stick with Manchester United for the start of the new Premier League campaign.
“There Pogba situation is fractious,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.
“There are issues between Raiola and Jose. There is a history of issues between Pogba and Mourinho last season.
“However, the plan going into the summer is that Pogba would stay. The expectation was that he would stay.”
Pogba moved to Serie A giants Juventus in an £800,000 deal during Sir Alex Ferguson’s spell in charge of Manchester United.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013.
