The Sun is reporting that the Red Devils feel that they will be able to conclude a deal to bring the 29-year-old Brazilian to Old Trafford this summer as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
According to the same report, Manchester United are now competing with FC Barcelona to sign Willian this summer, with the playmaker seemingly on his way out of Stamford Bridge.
The same story says that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho feels that the addition of Willian will add an attacking edge to his team after he lost faith in Anthony Martial at Old Trafford.
Willian’s future at Chelsea FC has been a source of speculation after he struggled to hold down a regular spot in the starting line-up at Stamford Bridge under Antonio Conte last season.
The west London side ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table last season and won the FA Cup in Conte’s second campaign in charge of the club.
