Manchester United would be reluctant to sell Anthony Martial to a title rival this summer, according to a report
Manchester United will be reluctant to allow Anthony Martial to move to a direct Premier League rival this summer, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils are facing a battle to keep Martial at the 20-time English champions beyond the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Martial is eager to remain in the Premier League to prove his talent in the English top flight following a mixed three seasons at Old Trafford.
According to the same story, Manchester United would be unwilling to allow the 22-year-old to move to a title rival for fear of Martial coming back to haunt the Red Devils.
Chelsea FC and Tottenham have been linked with a move to sign the French forward, while Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on Martial.
The France international has grown increasingly frustrated at Manchester United since Jose Mourinho’s appointment as Louis van Gaal’s successor.
Martial has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the Red Devils team over the past season to raise questions about his future.
The 22-year-old was a big hit in his first season at Manchester United under Van Gaal after a return of 19 goals in all competitions.
