Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to reveal that he’ll be enjoying the final week of his holiday before reporting back to Arsenal for the north London club’s pre-season tour to Singapore.

The 29-year-old playmaker has had to come to terms with the disappointment of Germany’s surprise World Cup exit at the group stage in Russia last month.

Ozil and his Germany team-mates were widely criticised for their failures to produce consistent performances in the group stage as they were sent home early from the tournament.

The German attacker has since been enjoying his holiday away from football as he looks to recharge his batteries ahead of the new campaign.

And the playmaker, who signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal back in February, is now preparing to report back to the north London club to begin work under his new manager Unai Emery at The Emirates.

Ozil posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Last week of holiday before returning to @Arsenal for the Singapore tour next Sunday 💥 #YaGunnersYa #M1Ö.”

Arsenal have signed five players so far this summer following Emery’s appointment as Arsene Wenger’s successor at The Emirates.

The new boss has been charged with steering Arsenal back into the top four next season after they finished sixth and without a trophy last term.
