Tottenham striker’s father says he won’t sign a new deal
Fernando Llorente's father insists that the striker will not be signing a new contract with Tottenham
Fernando Llorente’s father has insisted that the striker will not be signing a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur.
The 33-year-old Spanish forward has struggled for goals and playing time at Tottenham since joining the club in a £12m deal from Swansea City last summer.
The striker is widely expected to leave Tottenham this summer as he looks to join a club where he will be guaranteed some regular playing time.
There has been some speculation linking Llorente with a move to Serie A side Napoli this summer.
Now, his father and agent Chus Llorente has been quoted as saying that Llorente has no intention of renewing his contract with Spurs.
Speaking in an interview quoted by football.london, Chus Llorente said: “No, absolutely, we will not renew with Tottenham.”
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
The Lilywhites ended up in third place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last season after they were beaten by Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
