Insider reveals Tottenham set to rival Premier League rivals for 25-year-old forward
Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol confirms Tottenham want to sign Nice midfielder Alessandro Plea, according to a report
Tottenham Hotspur are one of four clubs interested in a potential deal to sign Nice forward Alessandro Plea, according to Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
Spurs finished in third place in the Premier League table last season but Mauricio Pochettino still hasn’t brought in any new faces in the current transfer window.
While Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has secured the future of Harry Kane and Pochettino, Spurs fans will be desperate to see some new faces added to the squad this summer.
Plea scored 16 goals and made five assists in 35 games for Nice last season to earn interest from the north London side ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
However, Spurs will face competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle United, Fulham and West Ham United are all interested in a swoop to sign Plea.
Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol claimed that Newcastle are in talks to sign Plea but reassured Spurs fans that the Magpies are still short of Nice’s valuation of the French forward.
Solhekol wrote on Twitter: “Newcastle are in talks to sign Nice forward Alassane Plea. Source close to player says Nice have rejected Newcastle bid worth up to £27m. West Ham also prepared to pay £27m. Fulham and Spurs also interested. Plea did not turn up to first day of Nice preseason training yesterday.”
Spurs have qualified for the Champions League in the past three seasons under Pochettino but are still waiting to win their first major trophy under the Argentinian head coach.
