Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a deal to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Lilywhites are keen to secure the signing of the 22-year-old midfielder as Mauricio Pochettino looks to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season.

The same story claims that Spurs boss Pochettino is keen to secure the signing of Grealish as he looks to find competition for Dele Alli at White Hart Lane.

The article says that Tottenham are ready to offer Grealish a five-year contract worth significantly more than his current deal of £20,000 a week.

It is claimed that Grealish has come to terms with the fact that he is likely to have to leave his boyhood club after they failed to gain promotion to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Pochettino will be looking to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season after the Lilywhites ended up in third place and without a trophy last term.

The north London side are yet to win their first trophy under Pochettino after they were beaten by Man United in the FA Cup semi-finals last term.
