Tottenham have been told their asking price to sign Juan Fernando Quintero this summer
Tottenham Hotspur have been told that Juan Fernando Quintero will cost at least £22m this summer by River Plate.
The Daily Star is reporting that Spurs are interested in a deal to bring the 25-year-old to north London as they look to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
Quintero is currently on loan to River Plate from Portuguese side FC Porto the Argentine side have an option to buy him on a permanent deal.
Now, River Plate chief Rodolfo D’Onofrio has confirmed the asking price of the Colombia international.
He is quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “I know of offers for Quintero. He is happy to be in River. If someone wants to take him, they will have to pay £22m.
“Let’s not take it out of context; the boy says he’s OK here.”
Quintero played 13 games for River Plate last season, scoring one goal in all competitions.
Tottenham are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
The Lilywhites ended up in third place in the Premier League table last term and without a trophy after they were beaten by Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-finals.
The north London side are still looking to win their first major trophy under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
