Tottenham Hotspur are close to finalising a deal to sign Bordeaux forward Malcom in the summer transfer window, according to reports in France.

The Sun is quoted unnamed reports in France that suggest Tottenham are on the brink of making the Brazilian striker their first summer signing.

The same article states that Arsenal and Chelsea FC have also shown an interest in the right forward but Spurs are at the front of the queue to land his signature.

According to the same story, the Lilywhites have opened negotiations with Bordeaux over a transfer fee and Spurs have also made contact with Malcom’s advisors to secure a deal.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is a long-term admirer of the prolific 21-year-old Bordeaux winger, according to same report.

Malcom scored 12 times in 38 games in Ligue 1 last season to attract interest from the Premier League in his signature ahead of the new Premier League season.

Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table last season to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League at the expense of Chelsea FC and Arsenal.

South American forward Malcom would provide cover for Tottenham’s Harry Kane in the Premier League next season.
